When I was out visiting the SPANA centre in Mauritania this guy brought in his donkey, with hooves nearly six inches long. How did he let them get like that? It must have taken at least a couple of years – and the poor old thing could hardly walk. Hard to imagine that nobody noticed – and especially weird, because in other respects she’d had been well looked after.
They’d spent money and effort feeding her really well. Fortunately we have a well-trained farrier in the team, and after an hour or so of back-breaking sweaty toil, the donk’s feet were almost back to normal, though it will take her a couple of days to re-learn how to walk normally. The poor old farrier only needed half an hour!

i think that people should
Shaun96@hotmail.com Thu, 09/29/2011 - 18:07i think that people should really treat their animals with respect and think of them as if they were really a child. I had a dog and it bit my sister but we never ever miss treated her. They only thing is that the police had to put her down because he bit my sisters shouilder because she was jelous of a nother dog that was at my house. She thought that we were going to forget about her so she broke her chain and accidentlly bit my sisters shoulder. My sister wasnt made but she did feel sorry after she found out that we had to get her put down. :(
