The Vet Charity Challenge is a one-day fundraising event for those in the veterinary sector, which pulls together a series of physical tasks and team building challenges. All the money raised from the event, is given to three animal charities – including SPANA – and so this year we’re entering a team of our very own!

The challenge brings together fitness, strategy, orienteering and problem-solving and each team is able to choose their own route and own pace. The aim is to get as many points as possible by passing different checkpoints, each with different values.

This year, money raised by each team goes towards supporting SPANA, Canine Partners and International Cat Care. This is the fourth year in a row that SPANA has been selected as one of the charities and, to date, the challenge has raised over £35,000 for us – helping us to reach even more working animals across the world!

So we thought it only right that this year we get stuck in ourselves. SPANA’s team, (the brilliantly-named ‘SPANARAMA’) includes SPANA vet Cecilia Gath, together with three of SPANA’s fundraisers.

The team are counting down to Saturday 26 September, when they will face trail running/walking, off-road biking, kayaking and team challenges against the clock.
