Finding Hope a home

Sadly, this beautiful little donkey recently became an orphan.

Her mother was found suffering in rural Botswana, with her young foal beside her. She had contracted a tick-borne parasite, and despite the best efforts of vets, she didn’t pull through.

Without SPANA, this sweet donkey would now be completely alone. But Pippa Young, SPANA Botswana Country Director, was not going to let that happen.

After an extensive search of appropriate places for her to live, Pippa found a farm where the foal could live alongside three other donkeys.

When this wonderful foal arrived at the farm, she didn’t have a name, but thanks to SPANA’s social media community she now does. You called her Hope, or Tsholofelo in Setswana, Botswana’s native language, and we think that is the perfect name.

As a result of your support, she now has a future.

On behalf of Tsholofelo and every other animal that we’re able to help, thank you.
