Vet Charity Challenge – Saturday 28th September 2013

Vet Charity Challenge logoWe’re thrilled that SPANA is once again going to be involved with the Vet Charity Challenge! Entry is open now so it’s time to get your team of four together and get signed up!

The Vet Charity Challenge is a one-day event which pulls together a series of physical tasks with puzzle-solving challenges along the way. Working with your team, you will tackle a course which involves walking (or running if you’re in a hurry...), cycling and kayaking. Sounds straight-forward? Here’s the fun bit... YOU decide your own route and your own pace. Each stage has a range of checkpoints and each checkpoint has a value. The clock is ticking and your team needs to accumulate as many points as you can within the time limit!

It’s going to be great fun and is a brilliant way to bond with your colleagues and build a buzz in your practice.

For further details and to register, please go to www.vetcharitychallenge.co.uk. Once you’ve signed up, email us so that we can provide you with a SPANA fundraising pack and promotional materials including t-shirts or running vests.

Royal Parks Half Marathon – Sunday 6 October 2013

This beautiful Half Marathon route takes in three of London’s Royal Parks at their autumnal best.  Starting in Hyde Park, you’ll then run through Green Park, past Buckingham Palace and into St James’ Park before heading onto the streets passing the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye. This event really isn’t one to be missed. SPANA has places available, please email us for more details.

Ethiopia Supporters’ Tour – 11th to 20th October 2013

Supporter tourSPANA’s special tour to Ethiopia is a fantastic opportunity to see firsthand how your help is transforming the lives of working animals.

The ten day trip includes visits to some magical locations, including a guided tour of Addis Ababa and its streets lined with jarcaranda trees and a visit to Lalibela with its collection of monolithic churches that were hewn out of the local granite rock (picture to the right).

As you’d expect, the group will also visit some truly inspiring SPANA projects. There are nearly two million working horses in Ethiopia, and our veterinary teams are bringing much-needed treatment to many of them, all thanks to you! You’ll have the opportunity to see the veterinary work in action, including a fascinating trip up into the highlands, whilst also visiting a SPANA classroom to see one of our Education projects with local children.

If you’d like to take a trip with a difference, and to see how your generosity is helping the lives of working animals, this really will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. To find out more, please call us on 020 7831 3999 or email events@spana.org.
