SPANA’s education programme aims to teach young people across the world about animal welfare and compassion. We not only reach thousands of schoolchildren each year, but also hundreds living in remote mountainous and desert communities, where working animals are vital and young people often play a key role in their care.

In the intense North African heat, donkeys Kais and Fraj work hard transporting people and goods across rugged mountainous terrain. Their young owners took part in SPANA’s fun, interactive sessions, where they learned about different types of animals, their animals’ diets, their work and proper handling techniques. These lessons equip children with the confidence to care for animals responsibly. With this gift, you can help SPANA run animal handling activities and interactive exhibitions – reaching more communities and future animal owners.
