Vital Vaccinations E-Gift

Salomon, a three-year-old donkey in Bamako, Mali, works tirelessly collecting waste in hazardous rubbish dumps. His makeshift harness caused painful wounds, risking infection. Over time Salomon began suffering from muscle spasms, stiff ears and a ‘locked jaw’ – early signs of deadly tetanus which enters the body through open wounds. At the centre, Salomon received a tetanus anti-toxin, a course of antibiotics, wound treatment and aftercare. While Salomon rested, the vets instructed the owner to bring in his other two donkeys for a tetanus vaccination to protect them from the disease. After two weeks of care at our stables, Salomon recovered fully, finally able to move and eat without pain. Salomon’s owner was relieved that his beloved donkeys had been protected from the deadly disease and could continue their vital work safely.
