Working donkey affected by severe drought in Ethiopia

We need your support to provide immediate lifesaving feed, water and treatment for working animals affected by the deadly drought

A devastating drought has left thousands of working animals in East Africa fighting for their lives. Following the worst drought Ethiopia has faced in decades, local water sources have dried up and food supplies have depleted.

Regions in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia have been destabilised further by the ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, insecurity and diseases. The President of Kenya has declared a national disaster.

Tragically, many animals have already lost their lives. With access to water and food remaining scarce, many more will die unless action is taken. Working animals are having to trek exceptionally high distances with their owners in scorching heat – sometimes up to four times their normal distance – to search for feed and water. They have become emaciated and susceptible to diseases.

We need your help urgently so animals can get the water, food and veterinary treatment they desperately need.

Will you please donate now to help save the lives of working animals affected by this terrible drought?
