An outbreak of a devastating disease is spreading through donkeys in Singida, Tanzania.

It is causing fatalities and threatening the families who rely on them to survive. We urgently need your help to save them.

The outbreak has already caused the death of 13 donkeys, and more than 1,700 are still at risk.

In just a few weeks, 156 new cases have emerged, highlighting how rapidly the disease is spreading. We cannot wait, every day lost means more suffering, more lives at risk and more families pushed to the edge.

That’s why we’re working closely with our trusted local partner, Organisation for Creative Impact, to deliver urgent treatment in the hardest-hit villages. Already, 22 donkeys have been treated – and we are seeing them recover. But so many more still need our help.

Your gift today could mean the difference between life and death for a donkey in Singida.

Your support can:

  • Stock our cabinets with medicines and bandages to treat their painful wounds.
  • Provide nutritional feed to support recovery.
  • Build shelters to keep donkeys safe, isolate the sick and protect them from harsh weather that can make their condition worse.
  • Supply protective equipment like footdips, gloves and masks for animal health workers to prevent spreading of infection.

Can you provide lifesaving care for these donkeys before it’s too late?

Before taking her to a SPANA mobile clinic, Thoko’s owner worried she wouldn’t survive the malnutrition.

Thank you
