This beautiful mare named Houda – meaning ‘guidance’ – was brought to our mobile clinic in rural Kebili, Tunisia, with several wounds on her face. Our vets examined the tender sores, which had been caused by a makeshift bridle fastened together out of plastic rope. The rope constantly rubbed against Houda’s sensitive skin, making the wounds prone to infection. After cleaning and treating her wounds, our vet gave Houda’s owner, Zied, a brand-new headcollar to replace her uncomfortable rope harness, as well as a soft fluffy noseband made by a kind SPANA supporter.
