Vulnerable working animals living in the world’s most remote areas are suffering. Will you help reach them?

In remote areas where there is no access to animal welfare care and support, SPANA’s mobile clinics are vital. They allow us to reach sick and injured animals in the heart of isolated communities, where working animals are relied on for survival.

We currently run a network of mobile clinics across 15 countries, each clocking up hundreds of miles a day to reach thousands of animals who would otherwise be forgotten.

Mobile clinics are essential to our ongoing work to transform the welfare of working animals worldwide, but none of this would be possible without your support.

Your donation could help:

  • Fund more mobile clinics and keep existing ones on the road
  • Stock our mobile clinics with lifesaving medicines
  • Treat sick and injured animals in hard-to-reach places
  • Train animal owners on what good welfare looks like
  • Run community training sessions
  • Train veterinary students so they can learn to treat working animals

The vulnerable working animals of the world need you. Will you please donate to our mobile clinics appeal today? Thank you.

Beza's wound was so deep, he struggled to walk

Beza’s Story

Beza, is the lifeline for his owner in rural Gondar, Ethiopia. Every day, he helps plough fields and carry goods, supporting the family in an area where veterinary care is scarce.

A few months ago, Beza suffered a deep puncture wound at the top of his leg. The wound quickly became infected, oozing a foul discharge. Beza struggled to walk and grew weak. He stopped eating, and his condition worsened.

Endager, his owner, was terrified. She knew that in such a remote area, finding veterinary care would be nearly impossible. Desperate to save Beza, she feared she might lose him.

Then, just in time, SPANA’s mobile clinic arrived in a nearby village.

At the clinic, the vets found that Beza’s wound was covered in dirt and the infection was spreading rapidly. Beza was in agonising pain, and without immediate treatment, the infection could have reached his bones, risking tetanus or sepsis – both of which could have been fatal.

SPANA’s vets acted quickly, cleaning Beza’s wound, giving him antibiotics, and providing pain relief. Within weeks, Beza was walking again and back to work.

Without SPANA, Beza would not have survived. The mobile clinic was his only hope.

Will you please donate to help other vulnerable animals like Beza, who are suffering in remote parts of the world?
