About SPANA

Established in 1923, our goal is to improve the welfare of working animals in the world’s most vulnerable communities. We inspire others to act in the best interests of working horses, donkeys, mules and other animals through treating, training and teaching. Our work improves the lives of animals while also supporting the communities that depend on them. In the low-income countries where we work, just one working animal can support an extended family of up to 30 people. We rely entirely on our supporters to help us in our huge but vital task.

The difference your legacy can make

Legacies are vital as they fund over half of everything we do for working animals.

Leaving a legacy to SPANA would relieve the suffering of countless horses, donkeys and other working animals long into the future through our veterinary treatment and care. Your gift could help pay for vital medicines, equipment or a new mobile vet clinic in the world’s most remote areas.

Your gift would also give a kinder future for working animals through our children’s education programme. Fostering knowledge and understanding for animals in children – the animal owners of tomorrow – cannot be done overnight.
