In Mali, 14-year-old schoolgirl, Bintou, helps her father care for their family’s carthorse, Moctar. Bintou adores animals, recognising their importance in our lives as companions, protectors and helpers. Through SPANA’s education programme, she’s learned valuable lessons about animal welfare and compassion. She’s gained knowledge on types of animals and their work, as well as proper diet and handling techniques. These classes empower children with the confidence to care for animals and inspire positive behaviour change towards animals.
