In Bishoftu, Ethiopia, Bullo the 10-year-old horse helps his young owner, Seboka, earn a living by transporting goods to market. Bullo’s rapid weight loss and weakened state worried Seboka, who brought him to SPANA’s Bishoftu centre for treatment. Our team discovered that Bullo had been dropping his food due to having overgrown teeth. His jagged teeth were causing painful sores in his mouth and making it a struggle to chew. Our skilled vets performed a dental examination and rasped the uneven teeth back into shape. With his new smile, Bullo could eat again and soon regained his strength.
