COVID-19 update
Please be reassured that during this difficult time, SPANA will keep caring for working animals in some of the world’s poorest communities.
COVID-19 UPDATE
The ongoing coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has been devastating for developing countries and the working animals that poverty-stricken families depend on. Government lockdowns and the accompanying decline of local business has left owners unable to work and struggling to look after or even feed their animals. Many animals have been left to fend for themselves and roam around looking for food and water. This has led to a sharp increase in illness, injury and disease.
But throughout the pandemic, SPANA has continued to be there for the working animals of the world. While working within the confines of local government restrictions, we have successfully provided free veterinary treatment and care across all the countries we work in. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have also launched a series of emergency feeding programmes, which have saved the lives of thousands of starving animals.
As the impact of Covid-19 crisis continues to be felt across the developing world, SPANA is facing record demand for our help. But thanks to our supporters, we will make sure working animals continue to receive the treatment and care they so desperately need and deserve.
