Every day, hardworking carthorse, Munisa, makes the arduous trip transporting vegetables to the market in the blazing heat. When Munisa stepped out into an intersection, neither her nor her owner noticed the speeding car until it was too late. The vehicle struck the horse’s leg, leaving a deep wound. Her distressed owner came to the SPANA centre in Chemaia, Morocco hoping it would still be open during the Covid-19 lockdown. To his immense relief, it was, and our team immediately brought Munisa in for treatment. The vets carefully cleaned and stitched the area before applying a bandage to protect the wound and aid his recovery.
