How To Help Working Animals This Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that has inspired millions of people around the world to celebrate generosity. It is a chance to give back to causes that are close to our hearts.

This Giving Tuesday, why not join us to help working animals around the world who urgently need expert care?

The day is celebrated on the Tuesday following two traditional days of spending: Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This year, Giving Tuesday is on 28 November 2023.

At SPANA (the Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad), we are transforming the lives of working animals. In some of the world’s most impoverished areas, horses, donkeys, mules, camels, oxen and other animals plough fields and transport people and goods to support their owners’ livelihoods.

Yet despite their key role, this invisible workforce of over 200 million animals is almost completely overlooked. They often lead short, hard lives, working in extreme conditions, with little rest, poor nutrition and without access to the care and support they need.

Working in more than 20 low-income countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America, SPANA provides lifesaving treatment and care to working animals in the greatest need. We also bring about lasting change by training owners in good animal care and teaching children about animal welfare.
