Leaving a legacy

You can help look after sick and injured working animals long into the future by leaving a gift to SPANA in your will.

Legacies are vital as they pay for nearly half of everything we do for working animals.  In fact in 2015, over 130,000 free veterinary treatments for sick animals were only possible because of gifts in Wills. They helped to pay for drugs and vital equipment and kept our mobile vet clinics on the road in the remotest areas.

Legacies also mean we can build a kinder, more humane future for working animals though our children’s education projects. We do this by fostering compassion for animals in children and replacing ignorance or negative attitudes with empathy and understanding. These changes can’t be done overnight – they are long term goals which require long term support. Leaving a gift in your will could help us reach many thousands of children with our animal welfare message in years to come.

Could you play a part in our future? Of course we understand that your family and loved ones will be your first priority. But if, after they have been taken care of, you are able to give a gift to SPANA in your will, you will be leaving the greatest gift of all. A gift of any size would make the world a better place for working animals, and the families that depend on them.

We’re retired and we don’t have a lot of spare money to help all our favourite charities as much as we’d like.  But we both really like the idea of leaving money to help the animals when were gone. We think that SPANA is a great charity and we both so pleased to be able to help in this way.

In some places in the world, it seems people don’t matter and life is cheap, so what chance for the animals on whom they depend? I so admire the work SPANA do on my behalf because I want to ease their suffering but cannot do it myself. I will continue to support SPANA during my lifetime and beyond, through a legacy in my Will. It is a modest amount but I could not overlook your fantastic work.
